The students from Joshibi will be in the UK for a month, continuing a long-running exchange between the two universities. They will see the University’s campus and arts facilities, take part in English classes and spend time with Loughborough’s Fine Art and Foundation students.
Paula Gamble-Schwarz, Programme Director for Art and Design Foundation Studies, said: “This is a very special opportunity for our Foundation students to work in collaboration with visiting Joshibi students. Over the past two years, both cohorts have worked in unison to create a body of work that encourages engaging dialogue and mutual understanding of their respective cultures. From this venture springs not only a very rich and varied body of work, but also lasting friendships.
“We are delighted to be able to support Rainbows Hospice which provides such a valuable service to local children and their families.”
